Default 2000 warrior starting problems/single click

Hello everyone
my 2000 warrior 350 has a starting problem and I was wondering if i could get input. When you turn on the key and press the start button i get a single click from the solenoid. Batter has charged for full day and is one yr old. Battery voltage is 14.6. If i roll the bike a few feet in gear the starter will turn very very slow a couple of times and then the single click again. I removed the starter and it spins freely. i have tried to jump the solenoid across the post but it shows no response. Please help.

Try putting power right to the starter. Take a set of jumper cables and put the positive end on the positive end of the battery. Then use the other side of the positive cable and put it touch it right on the starter where the wire attaches. It should activate the starter. Just be careful of the ground wires on the jumper cables. You don't need to use them, as the starter is grounded through the frame. If the starter still does not work, then it is bad.

Yeah it does sound like a bad starter. Grab a new or used one off E-Bay or some thing.

just to double check now that you have the starter off, use your jumper cables to the starter terminals to see if it spins/activates. then you can tell if the shaft/armature is bent or whatever. if it spins, you may have to go back to the electrical distribution back up through the solenoid to check for shorts or whatever. also, have your battery checked for CCA, cold cranking amps.

just because the starter spins freely doesnt mean the brushes are making good contact inside to give it the spin it needs to start the motor.
