Kodiak CVT problems...
Hello everyone, let me first start off by saying that I am a rookie when it comes working on ATVS but I do know a little bit about them. Now the good part. Over the weekend I removed the CVT on my 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 so I could inspect it. I did have to clean out all of the old grease and caked up dirt. I added new grease and put it all back together just like it came off. The bike started and ran fine for about 80 yards, then it made a metal grinding noise, almost sounded like something may have broke. The bike still starts and sounds great but I have no movement of any kind. I took the CVT apart and everything is still intact. Could something internally have broken? I can't afford to take it to a dealer so any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh one other thing....could there be a such thing as putting too much grease in the CVT?
