Engine problems on Yamaha wolverine!!!!!
08 Yamaha Wolverine smoking bad. It's been drowned once and rode with a bad air filter for months. Drowned it about 2 years ago and since then smoked like no tomorrow. I jumped to conclusions thinking it was only the rings but it being drowned and getting all that sand in the engine has caused more problems. (I think) Im not sure if I have warped my piston and rings. A mechanic told me that I could have sand in there and just changing the rings wouldn't last. NEED SOME HELP!

You've been riding it for 2 years like that? And it still starts and runs after smoking for 2 years? I can't believe that the engine hasn't locked up by now or at least has not lost so much compression that it won't start. Did something similar to a Recon once. Ended up buying a used cylinder off ebay and put new rings and piston in it. Original cylinder was so scratched up that it couldn't be fixed.
