Default grizzly 600 help

I just got a 98 grizzly 600. it has about 3,000 miles on it. this atv with start on the first hit when starting it up. but it does need the timing chain guides replaced because you can hear the chain slapping. but I have 2 questions to ask.

1. if the timing chain guides are bad and the timing chain is loose will it cause the atv not want to go fast?

2. when trying to taking off the clutch cover it wont come lose from the motor. it looks like it has never been off the machine before, So how would a person go about taking it off? or should I leave it be since its not giving me any issues?

The worn timing chain can raise the idle. As for the belt cover make sure yo didn't minis a bolt, then you may need to break the gasket seal to remove it.
