just picked up a 1999 yamaha blaster with an fmf exhaust system and its bored 40 over. its been awhile since iv owned a 2 stroke. anyone know about these qauds? from what i hear there your average 2 stroke not really any downfalls. and also whats the best oil to gas ratio?? from what iv read its 40:1 anyone got any tips on these?

Its been a while since i owned my blaster but im pretty sure its 40:1 i remember whatever it was it was exactly one quart to 5 gal. My blaster was pretty built i had to run Klotz but it is very expensive

40:1 is probably good, if you are uncertain, add more oil. I would rather one smoke a little more and be properly lubricated opposed to using less and burning it up. Those 200 blasters are a beast for their size. The power band is what makes them so fun.

I run 32:1 in everything.
40:1 will be fine.
I prefer a good synthetic oil. ie: Torco GP-7 (a hard find), RedLine is very good oil.
Klotz R-50, Maxima SuperM, are good options.

I run 32 to 1 in mine after I deleted the oil injection. Dose yours still have the oil injection on it?

i bypassed the oil injection right when i got it, i dont like it or trust it. new air filter, head gasket, leak tested it, re-torqued the head and cylinder bolts. i love it so far its got a pretty powerband in it
