hey everyone, got a 1991 yamaha big bear 350, i have a noise kind of sounds like a rattle noise on the right side of the engine, it seems to be very clear its coming from the clutch cover area, any idea what it could be?

 

could u be more specific? when does it do it on or off throttle? on the brakes? witch rpms? is it constant? lower or higher pitched rattle? the best way to diagnose exactly where its coming from is get a big screw driver put you ear on the handle and the tip on different parts on your engine, clutch cover, timing chain, valve cover and they will be significantly louder the closer you get, sounds dumb but it works

 

i already got it figured out, thought it was the right side but it wasn't, its the timing chain, tensioner was maxed out so i am putting a new chain on soon
