1992 Big Bear 350 4x4 carb adjustment
Hi,
Can anyone offer advice please?
I have overhauled the carb - Mikuni - all parts renewed, the quad started first time, which was a big releif! However once warmed up the engine is loosing power and won't idle. My question is this, when hot is the carb set too rich? If so is the mixture adjustment the screw/jet on the underside of the bowl? Any suggestions on a good starting point for adjusment would be great

pilot fuel screw is dead center, head side in front of float bowl, set your idle high enough it will run then adjust the screw in (if it raises idle keep going) if not try out witchever raises the idle keep going that way should be between .5-3.5 turns out from seated gently in. turn idle screw out as the idle is going up untill it will idle properly, it does sound like its to rich to me a way to check is get it up to operating temp, partially cover the intake, if the idle raises its lean, if it dies or starts to sputter it probably rich and you should screw your pilot screw in......hope this helps
