Default Has Anybody Seen Or Heard Of This??

My dad also has a Grizzly 700 and we went riding on the outlaw trails in wv like 2 weeks ago, anyway my dad does not ride hard or rough or torture his stuff at all. So we were riding around here (north carolina) yesterday and he stopped and said something is broke so i got to looking and he said it was with his steering and that he thought is felt lose in wv. We looked down under the handle bars and the steering shaft was cracked in half. We tried to drive easy home and in 2 minutes the shaft was in half. I want to know if this has happened to anybody. I have rode a long time with a lot of ppl and never heard of such. I mean we have bent shafts but never cracked and broke in half. I have a video if you want to see how we got him home

Nevermind i figured out the problem, we were lied to, thats what happens when buying used fourwheelers. My dads griz was spotless with 0 scratches on the plastic when he bought it. Come to find out today it was been wrecked in the front, pretty bad.

That's a shame. With all the stuff crammed in under the plastic you can't see everything and of course you wouldn't think that shaft could be cracked like that usually. Be thankful he wasn't going at a good pace and had it snap causing a collision with someone/something. Sorry you got fibbed to. That's a first I've seen for towing one that way, but considering the damage that was about all you could do.

Thats exactly right! I noticed one little thing when we got it home on the headlight and that was it but once we tore it down today its a lot that was hidden, and from what we can tell the shaft had been heated and grinded on and it broke right there.

Yep and if it's going to break, then the Hatfiled McCoy trails will finish it off. Those trails will beat an ATV up!

The good news is a new steering post is only $60 Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

So if you saves $2000 from buying a new 700 then your still well ahead of the game.
Can,t believe they tried to weld a part that only costs so little to replace.

BTW , I love that guy's "Easy Rider" helmet. LOL

You talking about Evel Knievel? hahaha. But yea you are right we already got all the parts ordered and could not believe that they would not just put a new one in, guess trying to save money to resell?
