I was deer hunting Saturday and I was coming off a ridge and I had 4wheeler in low 4wd and was holding back good and then it felt like it went into neutral then as I gave throttle it caught and held back again as it should then it done it again. I only use this atv for hunting. Could this be the clutch or belt or possibly both? Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

No I always keep it in my basement. It hasn't been thru a creek in years or hasn't been washed in a long time either. I just ride it in the woods hunting. Could it possibly be that I don't drive it faster than maybe 20 mph. It doesn't do it going up hill or on level ground. Thanks for the reply.

Take the belt cover off and try it and see if you can see whats happening.
Sounds like the engine braking is not doing its job like it should.
