hard to find 1st, nuetral and 2nd gears
I have a 08 raptor 700 that gets ridden once every month or so. It has a fresh oil change. The last two rides it has been difficult to find 1st, neutral , and second gears. When I down shift to stop its hard to get it into neutral. I have to hit the shifter a few times while rocking the quad to get from second to neutral. Then when I take off I have to rock it and hit the shifter a few times to find 1st. The clutch seems fine. It does grab as the lever is 3/4 out. Could the gears be going out or clutch going out? Need some help.

It sounds like your clutch isn't completely disenguaging the transmission. Check and see how much lever free play you have iin the clutch lever. There should only be between 5-10mm of free play in the lever. If you have more than that it can cause clutch slippage. Once you know that you have the correct ammount of free play, if you continue to have the same problems, you may need to rebuild your clutch as the plates and springs may be worn, again, causing slippage. Slippage can cause you to have trouble changing gears because the transmission isn't being fully disenguaged when you pull the clutch lever.
Also, I know that you said that you just put fresh oil in it, however, make sure the right amount of oil is in the machine. Incorrect oil levels can cause these and other problems as well.
One other thing I would check is to make sure that the shift shaft is not bent.
I hope this helps you out.
