Default wolverine cam swap

just wondering if anyone has done strictly a cam swap in a 450 wolverine. im looking for some more low to midrange power and don't really wanna spend a fortune. the bike already has a pipe and sheave mod and I have been happy with both. I've considered going to a higher compression stock displacement piston and a cam swap or even just the cam if there is a noticeable change. I also have a flow bench and will port the head mildly during teardown.

also since it looks like there is just two cams available, which one is everyone using.

thanks

A higher duration always helps mid and high power. I,d call these guys and ask toll free and find out what they think so you do not wast your money. Aaen Performance - Suzuki - Honda ATV Accessories

When the made the 500 Sportsman a H.O in 2001 all they did was a high duration cam and larger 40mm carb but I,m sure the cam did most of the work since people notice a power increase just changing to a H.O cam but left the small 36mm carb on.

since flow numbers are nearly non existent on most atv cylinder heads im gonna throw mine up. this is before and after basic portwork and I didn't flow the exhaust and apologize for that. The before was with the stock valve with 1000 miles on the quad and quite a bit of carbon buildup. so I think this contributed to a measurable percentage of the gain, especially the lower lift numbers. and it could be why the mid-lift had such an odd curve to it. but overall with about an hours work I picked up a solid 15-20% gain. I didn't use a velocity probe but guessing by the fact the higher lift numbers weren't up too much it makes me think I by no means took too much metal out.

hopefully with the extra point of compression, the cam, and this, the wolvie will pick up a little out of the hole.
