Default kodiak 450 clutch shim mod.

I have an 06 Kodiak 450 and i recently took off the 27" XTR's and traded for brand new stock pull offs from a grzz 700 ( didnt like how far the 14's put the tires out) I'm satisfied with the power and performance considering i downsized from a 750 brute force. my question is will the 1.5 or 1mm shim mod give me slightly quicker engagement cause it seems like the clutching from the factory dont engage quick enough for the torque curve. since im runninfactory tire size i figured i would run the 1mm shim and wait till i upgrade tires to put the .5mm with it. im not worried about topend speed after all it is a 450 but i dont want to limit it to 30mph either.btw i put a new belt and scuffed the clutch surfaces when i bought the bike. i also dnt plan to go bigger than 26" swamlites when i wear the factory tires down. any help with this would be appreciated personal experiences and what not.
