Default New carb for Moto-4 250cc

So, I was quoted $300 to clean the existing carb. I am not averse to learning for that much money, but I am seeing new Mikuni carbs online for less than $150. Is it worth it to just buy a new carb and start clean? If so, any suggestions on vendors? Thanks!

I realize this is an old thread and I'm sure you've done something by now but just in case anyone stumbles across this and finds themselves in the same situation...

$300 to clean a carb is nuts! Take it apart yourself, keep track of all the little parts and how they came out, and then soak all the metal parts in naphtha for a few hours. After that I like to chase all the little passages with a single strand of copper wire. Blow out the passages with carb cleaner (wear your safety glasses!) then put it back together with a rebuild kit (new float, needle and seat, gaskets, etc.). Don't be afraid to get into a carb, it's not as difficult as it looks when you first get into it.
