White smoke, usually equates to blue smoke.... Too much oil in the mix (If mixing) or something's wrong in the carb if you're using the factory oil injection..... May be running too lean. needs more fuel. I'd guess too much oil.

I've done some rebuilds in the past, that took a little bit for the rings to seat and the smoke slowed as it "broke in".... but I wouldn't have called it "billowing".

That's a running debate..... It's the owner's call.... I have had both and both worked well.... The injection was smoother and less smokey.... The Premix is on a faster 2 stroke that's had mods.... It was that way when I purchased it. But I would have no issue running a slightly bored 2 stroke Yamaha with it's factory injection.

Sounds like you might have a leaky crank seal sucking in trans oil... Get the oil injection delete kit and run premix.

up to this point ive cleaned the carb again and blocked off the oil injection and nothing seems to be slowing down the smoke... is it possible my reeds are bad?

Sounds like you have a bad crank seal or your cases need to be split and resealed... Its sucking trans fluid into your crank and burning it.
