Bruin 350 wont start
We were riding our bruin the other day and all of a sudden it just stopped. It was a very hot day so I figured I would just let it cool and try it again later. It still wont start, if I crank it over and over, I might get a backfire once or twice but nothing other than that. It is getting gas and spark, I cleanded the plug and still nothing. I took at the look at the valves and they needed adjustment but not too bad.
I figured if it jumped time the valves would be in their proper position.
Any other ideas that I can look at?
thanks

We have baiscally taken everything off. The opening where the Carb connects, I have sprayed in starting fluid and still nothing. It was running fine, valves did need to be adjusted because of valve lash, but it was running good. Of course I was not the one ridding it when it died so I am unsure exactly what it sounded like or what it did when it died.
I do know thought, it is getting spark, I have pulled the plug out and grouneded it agains the motor and the spark looks good. It is a brand new battery put in a few days before this problem.
I dont have a compression tester handy but I do know there is some compression. May have to rent or buy one just to check that.
I am also wondering if it might have jumped time just enough to cause it not to fire.

I would think if the chain jumped that it would have at minimum bent a valve but a compression check would tell you that. Tester's are inexpensive and you can probably get one on loan from O Riellys, Autozone, Etc. Anytime I've over thought the problem it turns out to be something easy and I wonder how I missed it in the first place. You can buy a manual on cd for like 10.00 on ebay, they are a lot of help. Good Luck

I already purchased the manual on CD a few years back and have been looking at it. I think I have to tear into the motor something bad has happened. If I blow air into the cyclinder when it is at TDC on compression stroke, I can hear air going through the motor and out the exhause. I am guessing that means something bad. I also noticed when manually turning over motor it seems to bind a little, dont know how else to explain it.
What are your thoughts, motor need rebuilt?
