Default 02 350 Warrior help

Hello all, I am new here. Long story short I picked up a used Warrior last night that needs some work. It starts and runs ok, but will not idle.

Here is my real problem. The quad will pull away with a little bit of throttle just fine. But when you apply more than a little throttle it make a loud clicking or ratching type noise and does not want to go anywhere. It appears that the clutch cable is adjusted all the way out and the clutch only engages when the lever is almost fully released.

Would that type of noise be from a worn clutch or am I looking at something else aswell? I am also not to fimilar with the reverse mechinism on the Warrior. It seems to go in to and out of forward and reverse ok. Any help is appreciated.

How does the front sprocket look ? Just the way you described the noise made me wonder if the chain is skipping teeth on a badly worn sprocket.

Did not even think about that. I will have to look when I get home tonight. Just got it last night as a fixer upper. That sure would be nice if that were the case.
Thanks
Ray

Yeah, especially if you fix it before the chain explodes and smashes a hole in your engine block

Thank you cncpro - I am glad to say it in fact appears I need a new front sprocket. I plan on getting/ordering a new one tomorrow. I cant believe I did not think to look at that last night. I jumped right in to thinking trans problems.

Excellent. Most likely needs a new chain as well and at least take a look at the rear sprocket.
