1994 Timberwolf NEW OWNER
I just got my hands on a 1994 Timberwolf 250.
TimberWolf
I've owned several ATV's over the years but this is my first Yamaha.
It was ridden for 5 or so years before the rear end imploded and the dood parked it under a tarp and bought a new ATV.
So it's been sitting for 10 years. Has the OEM tires and all the plastics are in EXCELLENT shape considering it's age. The seat isn't even ripped. The pics are before I cleaned the dust off it.
In short - it's worth fixing and I'm going to.
I'm an ex-mechanic with a decent amount of experience with ATV/Motorcycle work.
I'm looking for a rear-end for it so I don't have peice-meal all the bearings and seals involved. If anyone has any sources - PLEASE clue me in. I've already emailed several salvage yards but nothing so far.
Also, if anyone has the .pdf for any of the manuals I'd appreciate access to it. I've got LOTS of stuff to swap - specifically Honda Motorcycle stuff.
Thanks!

We have a '02 BearTracker 250 which looks identical and most likely is the same machine. Super reliable and tough ATV. See if you can get used parts for the diff. or a complete used diff. Check the bearings, change the oil, clean it up and put a winch on it and your good to go.
Ours has been a fantastic quad and now with good tires my wife gets that 2WD to go almost everywhere I go with my Kodiak 450 4x4.

hell, my timberwolf is stock besides the tires and it will go up a telephone pole if you keep the front end down lol. its a 95 yfb 250 2wd and i love that thing. its definetly my first choice for hunting or towing. its quiet in the low end rpm and loud-ish in the high rpm and they tow and plow flawlesly

Thanks.
That is a car muffler...It even has a "properly" bent pipe that connects to the OEM header. It's very quiet.
The dood I got it from owns a muffler shop
He is a longtime friend. I actually bought a 1994 Honda TRX300 new at the same time. We did lots of riding together - I never woulda thought I'd end up with his Yamaha.

I guess a Timberwolf is a little different than a Beartracker 250 since our '02 Beartracker has a 5 speed manual with auto clutch. It's not a full auto CVT like on my Kodiak.

94 Timberwolf - selling for parts but could be fixed
I have a 94 Timberwolf that needs a carb kit and two front tires. It has dents and dings. We had two and they both ran well, but we took parts from this one to use on the other one. It is red and black. (250cc) My number is 423-326-4322 if anyone is interested. I'm asking 150.00 for it.
