Default 98 warrior 350 wont idle

i recently aquired a 98 warrior and have been trying to get it running. i just replaced the stator, spark plug, changed the oil and put new fuel in. found out i wasnt getting fuel so i cleaned all the crap out of the carb and the float valve since it had been sitting with the reserve valve open for 5 years. i also replaced the fuel petcock. i can get it to idle for a while but when i try to close the choke it dies. also it takes a couple of tries to get it to start. i made sure the pilot screw was 2 turns out and even when i mess with the throttle screw on the carb it doesnt help it still has a slow idle. any suggestions or ideas. sorry for the long post.

my guess is the needle seat is sticking and not letting enough fuel in.

do you have any suggestions on how to clean the fuel inlet and needle and seat. i used some carb cleaner and a pick to clean the gunk out of the fuel inlet. i couldnt think of anything else, i really want this thing running for halloween.

well i fixed it. i had the guy that gave it to me give me a hand and we found the pilot jet clogged and a couple of other things still had some gunk on them. guess i didnt clean it that well initially. after another hour or so of cleaning and blowing it out with compressed air it runs like a champ.
