yamaha timberwolf carb issue
yes, i am a noob.. i am mechanically well endowed and went to school for automotive repair. however, i dont kno the first thing about quads. i just bought my first quad, an 04 warrior. however, this question isnt about my warrior.
my landlord has a yamaha timberwolf. i am unsure of the year but it looks like a single cylinder and i'm gonna guess maybe a 250?? she told me that if i could figure out the issue with her quad, that she would work something out with the rent so i'm all about gettin it taken care of.
the problem it's having is the hose under the carb is pouring out fuel. instead of turning the fuel petcock the full 90 degrees to turn on the fuel, i turned it only maybe 30 degrees to limit the fuel going into the carb. when i did that, the quad idled just fine, and i could give it quick revs just fine. however, i didnt take it out for a drive since i didnt kno if it would run very lean and hurt the quad. when i only turned the fuel on 30 degrees, it idled fine and no fuel would go out the hose on the bottom of the carb but as soon as i shut the quad off, it starts to pour out the hose..
any ideas on what's going on? i'd love to get this fixed for her since rent is 600/mo and i sure could use the extra cash..
