Default 06 Wolverine wheels and tires

I am looking to replace my wheels and tires on my 06 450 Wolverine stock. I am wondering whether I would be able to go to the 26x9x12, 26x11x12 size with Maxxis Zilla tires or a similar tire without having to lift the machine? If the 26" would be too big could I go with 25"? I am also debating between the zillas and the ITP mudlite XTR. I am looking for a tire that does a little bit of everything. I love mud but spend quite a bit of my riding time on trails at higher speeds. I am also concerned with handling as I am a female and don't have a huge amount of upper body strength. Opinions, other tire suggestions?

Thanks,

Jenny

The wolverine would never be too much bike for an experienced rider. No matter male or female. With a lift, you can go as high as 27's. I added a 2in lift along with ss312 and 26x9x12 and 26x11x12 maxxis zillas. its a perfect setup for that bike if you plan to run mud. The zillas are really light in weight which helps a lot. A heavy tire will take away too much power from the bike. You have to remember, you are going to lose rideability as far as trail riding goes when you lift the bike and or go bigger, more aggressive tires than stock. The stock setup is going to handle much better but you can go more places when more aggressive tires. I believe i added pics of my finished wolvy on here. check em out.

Jenny..... i run the 26 inch zillas with no lift..... works great and no rubbing at all....as far as trail riding and how they handle .... i like them very much,,,,in my opinion you do not need a lift at all...... good luck let us know what you decide..

I have 25" Zillas on my 2wd Wolvy 350. They me get through some very thick muck. I ride 70% trail and 30% mud. They are so much better than the stockers.
