Default 02 Raptor 660 shock recommendations

I am going to throw shocks all around on my quad and was thinking about the recreation series elkas. The other option was ohlins. Looking for some of your experiences with aftermarket shocks. I am going to hold on to this quad for a while so will spend some money on suspension. Thanks in advance for the input.

I believe the rear shock on the Raptors is a decent unit. You might want to talk to a few shops that do rebuilds. GT Thunder resprung and revalved my YFZ rear, and it is a night and day difference. Plus I saved enough to put Float Evols on the front(there is a reason why you see those shocks on the front of a majority of pro racers machines ) My brother does run a Fox Podium X rear on his quad and it is pretty sweet. I don't have enough experience with Elka or Ohlins other than to say that you would likely be happy with any aftermarket shock if it is set up for your weight and riding style. I would shop around for a company that will rework the shock cheaply if you are not satisfied initially.

i had f8 ishocks on my bike and they were a huge improvement over stock but now i have motowoz and they r worth every dollar they charge with out a doubt. and yes just get your rear rebuilt and i suggest to talk to wiig racing to do so imo they do the best rebuild out there, josh over there replaces more parts in a rebuild than anyone i have seen
