Default bear tracker, cdi? rev limiter?

my earlier post explained my popping, lack of rpms...etc. kind of what my wolverine does with the parking brake engaged. i have disconnected the wires going to the parking brake, which is supposed to tell the cdi to retard the timing, or whatever. no luck. still same condition. for some reason i have an active ground on both the black and green/yellow wire coming to the switch. i thought i would only have ground on one, unless the parking brake was engaged. i am starting to believe my cdi is bad. any thoughts or suggestions?

i have cleaned my carb, twice, and have made several adjustments that dont make the engine run any different. so, i feel as though i need to look elswhere for my problem.

does the rev limiter kick in if its in reverse?

check and see if any of the wires you disconnected plug into each other

i should have mentioned that i did try that already, sorry. anyone have a wiring diagram for an 01 beartracker? or know the pin out on the cdi? i would have to assume the cdi is getting a ground signal that is triggering the rev limiter.
