Well I went riding today to get some time in on my new tires and was having a blast 80 degrees and sunny boy was I having fun.

I got about 2 miles from my house and just opened the old warrior up. Everything had been running great all day after I got the wiring prob fixed but anyway I was hauling a$$ and started hearing a clanking sound got home and tried to figure it out so I was letting it run when all of a sudden she seized on me so now i'm befudled and have no idea what i'm gonna do with a seized warrior.

It's in the bottom end I think. Is it really worth it to try to fix it or to just start parting it out? I hate to get rid of it but money is tight with school and all.

 

Take your time and fix it yourself. Now is a good time to get a service manual if you don't already have one and dig in. Blown up it probably won't get a very good price, but freshened up should be good to ride for years.

 

So is it really worth it to rebuild? Or should I just part it out and try to get a 400ex or something bigger and better. What really sucks is that I just put brand new tires on the Warrior. Wonder what went wrong? It just sounded like something bouncing around in the crank case.

 

The worth of rebuilding is up to you. Now might be a good time to part it out and look folr something else, it all depends on how happy you were with the Warrior in the first place and how much you are willing to spend fixing it.

 

I would rip the top end off and take a peek inside...
Figure out whats wrong, price it out then make the decision if its worth it to YOU. to rebuild or part it out.

The warrior engine is one of most simple engines out there.
Only special tool you will need to completely dissasemble that engine would be a flywheel puller, possibly a valve spring compressor IF you dip in that deep.
Aswell as a simple rectangle 2x4 box to support the tranny on its side as you split the cases, again IF you dig in that deep ( only IF you require new crank bearings and you have committed to a rebuild.).

Me, personally I would pop it open and take a look. If its more than I would want to repair due to cost. then I would rassemble it and part out as needed to cover costs on a 400ex.

 

If I was you I would crack it open and see what went wrong. Might be less $$$ to fix it up than to invest in a 400ex.

 

I'm thinking crank bearing but I won't know till I split the case. If that was all it shouldn't be a hard fix and be fairly cheap but if I could part it out and get a 400ex that would be great for me. My brother had a 300ex and gave that thing pure hell and never had a single prob and with my warrior it seems like something is always going wrong.

 

From what I read the warrior is a problem **** bike. I've had mine since late last yr and have fixed it up and have had only a couple issues with the stator, but RMstator fixed that for just the shipping charges to them. But I had a ricky stator that I had installed wrong and fixed so I could still ride. So far it's been bullet proof riding at some rocky places.

 

I have never heard of a warrior being a problem prone quad ever. From my experience that motor is nearly bullet proof. I would be looking at possible causes. If you aren't changing the oil often enough or whatever it is. No engine will take constant abuse without a little care and feeding.

 

No I change the oil but it had sat for a while maybe that is what did it.
