yes it runs great once it's warmed up. but when i let off the gas the carb make a spit noise. and it does this when it is idiling also. i dunno if it's starving for air or starving for gas......?

It's lean if it's hiccuping into the carb. Either the pilot jet is clogged, or the fuel screw is leaned out too much.

i only have the air screw out 1 1/4 turns which is what the book calls for. should i move my needle up on spot? or up my main jet? any thing i do this thing doesn't want to run right. i'm about ready to give up.

also it doesn't matter what setting my screw is it. i can set it at any setting and it still does it. so i'm leaning towards either going up on my pilot jet or going up on my main jet. i dunno.

i had my pilot jet out last month and cleaned it out even though it wasn't dirty, i could see right through the hole. so i'm thinking should i go up on my pilot jet?

It's possible for the pilot jet to be partially clogged. It doesn't take much at all to mess one up.

Are you sure you don't have any air leaks?

What about the float height, are you sure the fuel level in the bowl is right? If the level is set too low you won't get enough fuel to the jets.
