You need to rejet it if you are going to ride it in the cold. Colder air gives your engine more oxygen, so jetting must be compensated for. If you continue to run it in the current state with it as cold as it is, your leg will get very tired, and you risk damaging the engine, due to running it lean.

My 06 came with a spare jet for cold weather and instructions on changing the needle setting and the jet.

You can go to Yamaha Service and Parts and click on "View Owners Manuals" in the blue strip on the left and choose your model/year and read up.

Online resources are great!

reguardless of weather it needs jetting b/c of the pipe, that doesnt have anything to do with why it wont run.yes in colder weather the oil is thicker and may turn over harder.your blaster is a 2-stroke,first thing to try is a new spark plug.could be fouled.or partially foulded.i own a blaster and a banshee.the blasyer has not started b 4 and i put in a new plug bam irst kick running.try that if that dont work 4 you then between me and every one else on here will tell you what to do next.

i have a 2000 blaster fmf fatty power core2 and below about 32 its kinda hard 2 start i just think its the cold after start warm up its fine. ive had it 3yrs now without any engine problems at all! i use klotz mixed at 32 to 1 and never fouled a plug not sure of jetting though. you may need 2 rejet if carb is stock jetted.
