There was an issues a while back on the Kodiak rear swingarm cracking and breaking. It probably got to do with being a stamped sheet steel , welded to another sheet, swingarm. The honda is made from tube.
Check with the dealership, and see if the warentee has been extended, or if there a goodwill adjustment for that.

The shop where my bike is said that yamaha is going to buy the parts on goodwill , but they aren't going to pay for the labor. the shop said they would go ahead and install it and it wouldn't cost me a dime. they said I was jumping the 4 wheeler for it to break.(LMAO)it doesn't have enough power to get out of its own way, much less take flight.oh well, I guess it could be worse.
