making 07 griz 450 more durable
so, i guess im learning that i am quite rough with my quad, however, i want to continue to be that way because its how i ride but i want to make my quad more durable and better protected. i have had about 4 flat tires with my stock tires, 2 of which got plugged and the others, fix-a-flat worked fine, maybe i should consider better tires? also i have a tusk city slicker plow and the mount doubles as a skid plate, but it seems kind of cheap because ive hit a few rocks and the whole mount has slid back, so the screws are like diagonal. one of them snapped off. i just bought myself some high capacity front springs, which i know will help, seeing that ive bottomed out a few times on flat ground. any suggestions?

I beat my Grizz 450 pretty good too... I ride lots of rocks rutted trails etc.. The skidplates help alot and have taken alot of the beating... I have my quad in pieces right now as I get it ready for the spring.. I put 700 miles on it this past year and it is still in great shape...
I am adding more protection though.. I am making custom footwell skidplates out of 3/16" 5052 Aluminum so that will help protect them. As well as a custom front bash-plate since the Yamaha one STILL isn't available... and besides.. I am making mine out of 1/4" 5052 Aluminum! Not the 1/8" that Yami uses! I am not sold on the lift kit yet....

I have a kimpex lift kit on my kodiak 450 2005 and I have about 5500km on the bike and the lift has been on for about half that millage and never had no problem with the joints.
I have 26" mud bug tire 1 1/2 lift kit ,EPI clutch kit, K&N air filter and I will be instaling a K&N jet kit soon as the weather permits me to do so.
Thanks

alright, so i guess i will probably do the lift kit eventually. now i guess the question is whats first. i have about $220 bucks i can spend. the lift looks like itll be around $180, cv joint skids for all 4 would be $130 i guess? and a front bash plate would be like $130 as well
