Default gaskets and gasket sealers

When you are replacing the gaskets on any part of the motor, do you have to use yamabond or something similar, or is the just gasket by itself ok? If so, how much and on what side of the gasket? For example, the cylinder head and valve cover gasket - use both or just the Yamabond? What's best? thanks
this is the 1st time tearing apart my motor

Default gaskets and gasket sealers

What kind of bike? I never use gasket sealer on anything. I've seen some people use a light coat of sealer on top of the gaskets. In my opinion if the gasket by itself leaks then your gasket didn't seat properly or needs to be replaced. Definately don't use the sealer on your metal headgasket.
