Okay, here goes again, Carbs...
Well oh well, here we are in a New year! Happy New Years to all...
My question, concerns the carb on my 95 Kodiak 400 4x4 again, about a month ago, I posted a message about popping through the front of the carb, and it was suggested that I replace the "Pilot Jet" because I was running lean, well did that and still getting a pop every once in a while, especially when plowing snow, now I have not replaced the carb joint(intake) but have a hole in the rubber portion of the joint, and I am not well versed on bike engines, but was wondering...if it is possible, this hole in the joint is allow the engine to run lean?,
Please be easy on me, I am learning, but wanted to know if this could still be a problem?
Thanks for any help you can provide a newby
The carb was recently rebuilt by a yamaha ATV dealer, so if they knew what they were doing, I would expect it to be within specs

That is your problem. You need to replace it ASAP. It will suck air through that, and it may not due it every time, and that will cause sporadic issues. Not to mention it is unfiltered air. We all learned at some point in time.
