Awesome, nothing better than getting out and putting a few miles on the quad. I plan on getting mine out tonight and doing a top speed run, got the new GPS, so I want to see what mine will actually do. Im hoping for 60+mph, we will see.</end quote></div>
Let us know... I hear 50 to 55 is tops...

The hauck clutch work is supposed to get you about another 10mph, I couldnt get over 50 according to the speedo before, now Im hitting 59/60 on the speedo. I dont know how accurate the speedometer is on these things, thats why I want to test it out on the GPS.

Well...I would bet that my quad is leaning out a little on the top end right now because of the colder denser air. This past fall (the last time I rode the quad) I was hitting 58 and 59mph every time I raced, and the temp was in the 70's (it was jetted and tuned when it was 80-90degrees). Right now, it is about 25degrees outside and I couldnt break 55mph....Im assuming Im just not getting enough fuel right now, so not enough power to get my big *** up to 60mph anymore.
I just did 4 passes down my street and I couldnt get the speedometer over 55mph on any run, the top speed recorded on the GPS is 54.7mph...so its pretty damn accurate....I will take .3mph off any day.
Oh well, I will wait until spring when it warms up some more and do a few more runs, its no fun going fast when its this cold out. Plus, we are supposed to have 10+" of snow by tomorrow night, so no more fast riding for me.

yep was that the break in ride??After about 50 miles you want to change the oil and filter, you will see metal shavings on the filter but that is normal for a break in ride..They go away in time..
As for the 65 degrees hehe sounds good to me..But In Western NY we have our fun also this time of the year, next two days we will get 24" of snow, its a blast to plow through 2 ft of fresh powder

Yhea I broke mine in and at 100 miles changed the oil. The filter would be tough to see any metal shavings on the 450 due to it being like a car filter and just screwing on. Now if it was like some of the older quads you would have to remove the filter from inside a case and you could actually inspect it to see what everything looks like.
