stupid question about a grizzly
This may sound like a stupid question, but it may actually sway my decision on whether or not to buy a new Grizz. Will an '05 Grizzly fit in the bed ( with the tailgate up) of an '02 Ford superduty shortbed. Yamaha's website lists the Grizz at 82.1" long if I recall correctly, and the bed on my truck measures just under 82". Anybody stick their Grizz in a shortbed superduty and get the tailgate latched ?

stupid question about a grizzly
softail,
I believe I can answer your question. Yes! I just purchased a used '04 Grizzly 660 (exactly the same as the '05s) this weekend. It fit very nicely into an '02 Ford F-250 Superduty supercab shortbed. The tailgate went up with about 2 to 4 inches to spare. This is with the stock tires on. If you have larger tires installed, you may have to leave the tailgate down.
Let me know if you have anyother questions.

stupid question about a grizzly
I believe the overall lenght of the Grizzly is including racks and everything. I have a 98' F-150 with the long bed. When I have the Grizzly in the bed there is still alot of room left over. I think it will fit in your bed just fine... By the way, I use to haul my Wolverine in my short bed Ranger with the tailgate up. It just fit. I'm not sure what the difference between the Grizzly and Wolverine are but I'm betting the Grizz will fit in a short bed F-150.

stupid question about a grizzly
Mine would'nt fit in my Silverado shortbed until I made some ramps to lift the front wheels up 4 inches. The front bumper was hitting on the frame for the tonneau cover, so I had to lift it to get the bumper suport to go over the frame. Now the tires are dead nuts against the frame and against the tailgate. No bigger tires for me now I guess....

sdsdv10, thanks, that's exactly what i was looking for, somebody who has actually done it. ut, you did raise another point didn't even think about, guess couldn't put bigger diameter tires on it if wanted to be able to latch the tailgate. Wolverineman, you must be correct about measuring the Grizz to the racks, which must stick out a tad past the tires. sdsdv10, looks like we pretty much have the same truck.
Mine is an '02 supercab shortbed with a v10 also.

stupid question about a grizzly
I can fit my 02 Grizzly in the back of a full size Silverado with a STEPSIDE bed, and still close the tailgate. Put a boat cushion in front of the front rack and pull it in forward. It fits. I believe I've even been able to do it with the 27" tires on before as well, but I had to really push on the tailgate. Ford standard beds are generally about 1-2" longer than Chevrolet, so I don't see it being a problem.
