NEW ATV PARK IN CULLMAN, ALABAMA
I rode there on the 4th. My friend and I had a great time. The name of the place is "Wilborn Extreme Outdoors ATV Trails". They are very near the old "Chigger Ridge" trails and the same powerlines come through this property of 4,000 acres. The trails that were marked "Extreme" were very steep but nicely graded. All the trails we rode were in pretty good shape. We rode several creek bottom trails to cool off. It was very hot and dusty Tuesday, but I bet it's nice when the trails are damp or a little muddy. We went through the tunnels under the interstate. That was cool. We rode the powerlines and that was great also. Yes, some trails are 10-18' wide and are very smooth, and some are 4 x 4 ATX trails only! I say there are trails for everyone to enjoy riding. I know we did.
They also had a mister system set up for people who were "hot" to just ride right up and get "misted". They sold soft drinks, sandwiches and sunglasses. Admission was $15.00 per head. Not bad.
We rode from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM before we had to leave. Trails are only open from May 1st through October, then he turns it over to his (15) turkey hunters who pay $1500 apiece ($22,500.00) to hunt there during hunting season, without him having to be there. So getting this place to be a year-round ATV trail system open to the public is going to take some doing.
I believe that these trails could be some of the best around. I went to Coal Creek (Windrock), Tenn this past February and the Stouts Mountain Trails are just as good, but without the long drive to eastern Tennessee.
Just my 2 cents!

Rode there this weekend for the first time. Awesome place to ride. Beware of the "Extreme Area" they did name this place appropriately. Was talking to the land owner before I left, they are planning on adding another 100 miles or so of trails by next year. He said they will re-open in February if weather permits.
