Suzuki 750KQ???

I posted this on the Suzuki thread, but though I should also do so here to get a varied audience.

Well, it has been several months since I have been on the forum, but I am selling my POS polaris 800 x2 that is one month shy of being 2 years old but has been in the shop a total of 3 months at 5 different times. It has been nothing but a POS and I doubt I will ever own another polaris. Three of my friends have or had polaris atv's and all three have had problems with them, but I though it was just their machines. Well, after the 5 different times in the shop and almost $1800 out of my pocket that wasn't coverend under warranty, I have had enough and is being sold today.

Before the questions, here is some back ground. I have had several kawasaki's and never any problems. I had a 2004 prairie-700, 2005 brute force-750 and we currently have a 1998 mule-2500 and a 2004 prairie-360. All have been great quads and virtually no problems.

I have also owned a yamaha 250 4x4 timberwolf and a honda recon 250. Now, I am wanting something reliable which the kawasaki's have been. However, I don't like the brute force stiff steering, thus I am considering a 2009 KQ750.

I have looked at the honda rincon, but no low range and no front diff locker and after riding it, the power was similar to a 500 IMO. I considered the griz 700, but I hate where they put the instrumentation center---on the other side of the handle bars---to far. I have also considered the AC700, but the price was much higher than what I can get the suzuki KQ750.

SO: I can get a dark green suzuki KQ 750 for $7000 OTD! What is the pros and cons of this quad? I am mostly using it for trailing riding, at the deer lease and on the farm. I will not be using it for deep mud bogging as I will probably get a used bf750 (2005) and gurilla lift it for that purpose.

I don't want a pi$$ing contest, just good factual information on the good and bad of this quad. Thanks!

I myself have not riden the kq750 a buddy has a kq700 that I have riden.. to be honest I never noticed the Brutes stiff steering that you mentioned untill I rode his KQ, I got off it and asked him "does this thing have power steering?" it turned sooo much easier than the brute it was awkward for me at first lol.

I dont know any TRUE downsides to the kq, just stuff I personally dont like about it. I dont like the racks, they seem small for me, also dont like the foot wells and dont like the over all body design.... but thats all my personal taste

I do like the way the differential locks and the wider seat towards the back and it has a couple of small built in added storage.

Thanks for the honest reply. I too was the same way about the steering after riding a KQ. It was probably the easiest to steer of any big bore w/o power steering. I rode the rincon which steered pretty good, but the power was on par with a 500-600 machine IMO or maybe I was just used to the power of a brute that it made it seem that way.

The only few things I didn't like about the KQ750 are the small racks, but I will put a basket rack on the front and a box on the back so that won't matter. The real thing is the floor board seems soft, but the guy in the service dept said they sell a couple of custom made s/s plates that bolts to the bottom for this.

I can relate to the stiff steering of the kawies, worse when in 4 wheel drive, so much so that I just traded my 08 650 Brute and got the 550 grizzly non-power steering. What a difference!!! The Grizz feels like it has power steering compared to the Brute. The new Kingquad 500 was my second choice but I went with the Yammy because I had A 700 Grizz in the past and liked it. I feel that the Suzukies are one of the better machines, because I sell all four Japanese brands where I work, and have been able to compare them. I had no Idea how hard the bruteforce steered, until I got it out in the real world of atv riding, and just was unhappy with it. Go for the Kingquad, you won't be unhappy.... DOG
