Mud tires

I have the 28" ITP 589- ( I love them )

Pros:
Awesome in the mud.
really good on the trail.
6 ply rating-tough.

Cons:
It takes some power to turnem.
They do not give on tree roots, I have to be careful when going up steep hils with roots. The tires like to spin on the roots.

if you are looking for a all purpose trail tire then the 589 is the better of the two but..... if you really want to go through the mastiest mud imaginable then you definately need to look into the mud machine tires made by sand tires unlimited. i have 26' on my rancher at and cannot be stopped. they self clean like no other tire out there.

I agree 100%. The bi/tri claw combo is awesome. They make the 589s look look like a stock tire. They ride smooth, do great in the mud, wear like iron, and arent that heavy. If you want an all out mud tire, go with the bi/tri claws, mudzillas, outlaws or the vampires.

The mudlites wear out too easy. I have bought 2 sets and both have worn fairly quick. A buddy has a set and his are wearing fast too.

As far as the vampire being a 4 ply, I know of some 6 ply tires that arent as strong as some 4 ply tires. The vamps seem to be made pretty strong, so I wouldnt let that bother me.

In my opinion here are the ranked order of the best mud tires:

1. High Lifter Outlaw (for the nastiest mud, none are better than the Outlaw)

2. Vampire (they dig so make sure the mud you ride in has a solid bottom)

3. MudZilla

4. Bi/Tri Combo

5. Mud Bug/Gator

6. ITP 589

On my 350, I have Bugs. When the engine was stock it would turn them fine in watery mud. In thick mud it would bog at times. After installing my pipe and jetting there is no noticible power loss and spins them well.

Who makes the bi/tri claws?
Does anyone have a picture of them?

They're made by MudMachine. Most go with BIs on the front and Tris on the rear. They are a really nice tire.
