They are cold blooded because of the timing profile. The aftermarket CDI should solve that. I have ran mine when it was below zero. I store mine covered but not inside. Just use the choke and when it stumbles idling on choke flip it off and give it a little throttle and it will warm up nicely from there. Mine has been totally dependable so far.

Problems w/ Prairie 700?
I only had my STP700 for a few weaks, but has never stalled. My p650 has never stalled and has several hundred hours of flawless performance. My dads P650 has never stalled and was bought at the same time my p650 was 2 years ago.
