Power angle snowplow
#21
Ok so i know this is an old thread but it is coming around to that time of year shortly and this is still fresh in my mind. So i stumbled upon a Outboard motor hydralic lift. So i took it home and hooked it up and it works great its a small pump and the ram pushes and pulls about 7 inches so i am going to weld some brackets up and get this to work. Ill post some pics when i start this project next month.

I did not realize the cylinder pulled. I would reccommend using a bungee strap to lock the blade in place using the original pin or lever on the pushtube. Those have to be heavier duty cylinders but probably not hefty enough to bang the end of the blade on a curb. Wish I would have thought of those cylinders before using a winch. POST PICS

when i get to fabricating this i will post pics. This came off a 90 Force engine, I dont know what the weight is of the engine but it lifts it up and lowers it so they have to be pretty beffy and strong. But your right i will still use the locking mech. I didnt even think about this until it was given to me, then the idiot light went off and i should have thought about this myself. Oh well Ill keep everyone posted.

there is a website that has all the power angle set up pretty cheap i think. it is for a cycle country but with a little mechanical skills would probly work on any. i am going to buy one this year i think and see how it works, the web site is Cycle Country ELECTRIC BLADE ANGLE KIT from Woodward Specialties it is an electric blade angle kit. only cost $180 plus tax and shipping i would assume.

So again i know this is old but i finally got around to welding the brackets today. It was beyond cold this morning. So the brackets are temporary untill i make new ones that are thicker plates. Anyway here are the photos.

I broke down and bought a moose hydraulic plow angle. It is made by fuse-powersports for moose. I am still waiting to get it (still backordered). It has a pressure relief valve so it does not break or bend anything. It supposedly has 1200 pounds holding and moving pressure. I got a good deal but still very pricey. I am selling the 72" G2 to help cover the cost. Still no snow to plow here yet.
