I know you've all seen guys in lakes/ponds floating around like they were clunky boats. I have a Grizz700, would it float? Would I need air and exhaust snorkels? Can it be done or are they really on the mud bottom with their rear wheels?
Actually, what I want to know is if I were crossing a stream and it became much deeper than I planned, would it go under? Probably my gear bag in the rear would go under, too. If too deep, I guess I should use my kill switch asap, too.
i HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN QUADS FLOAT AND THEY USUALLY AD MORE AIR PRESSURE TO THE TIRES AND PUT BASKET BALLS OR OTHER FLOAT TYPE DEVICES IN THE FRAME AREAS. yOU NEED TO BE VERY CAREFULL AS A QUAD WILL TURN OVER VERY EASILY IN DEEP WATER.
MOST JUST SNORKEL THE AIR BOX AND BELT HOUSING INTAKE AND EXHAUST AND KEEP THE REAR TIRES INCONTACT WITH THE BOTTOM AND FLOAT THE FRONT

When I get in water more than about 4 1/2 feet, the bike tends to try and float. When it does this, the tires dont have anything to pull off of. With water in the tires, it stays on the bottom. I run more water in my rears, because if I fall off, the bike will float straight up and down without having any water intake. Ive posted these pics on here before but they will give you and idea what im talking about...........
Its a freakin blast to ride water, and little to no clean-up. Just keep your fluids changed and a 50 gallon drum of di-electric grease in your shop...........
