I have a 5'x14' single axle that came with P rated tires. I ran them for about 5 year's with no problem's but kept the weight down to 3k pound's max, also kept them aired to 35-37 psi. I did change them out recently with Interco load range C trailer tires and they are doing a fine job. Loaded down I run 50 psi in these tires.

What irritates me is!
Those 6-packs work pretty good.

I've run auto tires on a 19' travel trailer and a couple sets on my flat bed trailer with no problems. Just stay within the load rating. If you notice any unusal wear, replace the tire. They'll likely rot out before the tread is gone.

Oldman800 has it right. Less sway with trailer tires. Car tires are usually radial and will sway more. I use car tires also because they are cheaper. Heavy trailer would be better with trailer specific tires.
