Default Warn A2000

I have a Warn A2000 warn winch on my Honda ATV - it currently has a butterfly switch to wind cable in or out...it works great, I would rather have a small mini rocker on the handle bars for in and out for the cable. Can this be done without buying the kit? If so, I would I wire the mini rocker?

Thanks

You mean without buying the mini rocker switch upgrade kit? Not really, because a small rocker switch won't carry the amps the winch motor requires and you likely don't want to run big honkin cables up to the bars.

You would need the contactor and the cables that come in the mini-rocker upgrade kit. Retail on the kit is like $130, but they are on e-bay for like $120 with shipping all the time.

Welcome to the forum.

Why not just install this wireless remote kit-includes the relay (contactor/breaker), remote, and a handlebar rocker--all for $40.

Without remote, only $30:

Does the wireless kit assume you have a contactor you will be reusing? The Warn wireless kit has the receiver/brain box like that, but still uses the standard contactor.

That is a great idea. If it were my A2000, I don't know if I'd feel the price of Warn's upgrade kit worth it, but the Gorilla kit is way cheaper and worth doing.

I'm thinking that you may need a contactor, too, with the wireless kit.

Anyway, post back once you get it and let us know how it works.
