Default Back-Rack

Hey All,

I have a 2006 Ford (ok lets hear the trash talk) F150 and the front of the bed is wimpy as hell and is "bowed" outward closing the gap between the bed and the back of the cab....

I am looking to get a BACKRACK for it and was wondering if they are worth the $250 price...

I'd like to know as well. I'm getting a new truck soon and don't want to bash out the window. Someone please respond

I went and checked them out... nice product... I will most likely be getting one... Funny thing is.. there is on for sale locally on Craigslist... same model/year truck as mine... .the donkey totalled it 2 days after the rack was installed... he is ASKING $200 for it... Since I have to drive 80 miles total to get it... I will most likely offer him $150... As there isn't much demand considering that 2 local shops don't even Stock the one for my truck... which is a pretty darn popular truck....

i always heard them called a head-ache rack or bar. they'll save your back window not sure about the bed bowing though. i depends on how the rack is made.
the one's i've use looked "home-made" they was made of steel. they took a fair amount of abuse.

Yea, they are called head-ache racks / bars as well. This one will prevent the bed from bowing any further... I'll take pictures of my Bowed bed...

I would up getting the one from the guy asking the $200... I patiently waited until he changed the ad from $200 Firm to $200 or best.. so I offered the $150 and he agreed, not only that - I had to help a friend deliver something to a town only 10 minutes from the guy.. so I was able to work it in to my trip! The only thing I don't like about it is he got the version that is used to mount a tool box... I have no desire to mount a tool box... so the longer mounting brackets for now will stay.. I MIGHT cut them down.. not sure yet...

I will be installing it this week, I will take pictes

I got a back rack on my GMC Sierra and its great. Make sure the bolt ends face out not in on the main bar. The shop that put mine on didn't do it right (we put one on my brothers truck) and the bolts broke the back glass when i put the toy hauler on the truck lol... of course they replaced the window but it scared the crap out of me and my wife while we were driving.

The back rack comes in super handy when hauling wood, ladders, etc. that are over 8' long. This way I can close my tailgate.

I have had my Back-rack now for 2 months now.. and I love it!! What a deal, I actually paid $125 for it when I picked it up since it did have the toolbox brackets! I then wound up getting the normal mounting brackets from a dood on ebay a few fews ago for only $35 shipped! So basically for $160 I got myself a Back rack valued at over $275

Sweet!

I did notice up here where it snows that if you get ice chuncks stuck between the rack and the window it makes for a noisy ride lol
