best time to look for new enclosed trailers
When your talking enclosed utility trailers or V-nose trailers, I really don't think there is much of a "season" for them.
V-nose trailers can be used for ATVs, snowmobiles, bikes, utilty, etc.... In short, it can be used for so much, there really isn't a specific season for it. Actually, if you own snowmbiles and ATVs or bikes, this is the best trailer to get as it will fit all your needs for the entire year.
A square nose utility usually only has the single door in the back. Typically a bad trailer for snowmobiles, but works good for ATVs, bikes, land scaping, car hauling (depending on the GVWS), etc... Might be able to get a better deal on this type of trailer in the winter, but it is still a gamble as people us them to store their toys in them for winter use. In short, they are still desirable in the off-season as well.
If your shopping new, wait until the Dealer has a huge selection of them. When a Dealer has a ton of them on their lot, they want to sell them to get some of their money back. When their inventory is low, they usually deal less. When buying used, just compare the prices and buy what seems to be the best deal.
Also, best deal, doesn't mean cheapest price. Sometimes a higher priced trailer might be the better deal. Aluminum frame verses steel frame, electric brakes verses no brakes, GVWs, how many doors (greasable hinges?), roof vents, condition, etc...
The best advice I can give you, is buy the correct trailer the first time. If you have an idea of what you want/need and than start compromising due to price or availability, you will find yourself wanting the trailer that you originally had in mind. It is much cheaper to buy it once than to keep trading it in until you get what you wanted originally.
