Default 2009 Toyota Tacoma

Well I'm thinking of getting rid of my 99 f150 xlt. I love the Toyota dealership here in Corner Brook. Both my parents and my brother have nothing but good things to say about the service seeing how they purchased new vehicles within the last 2 years. I'm considering the 2009 Toyota Tacoma double cab TRD sport leather package. Anyone have experience with the Tacomas? They look like a great truck. I dont want the Tundra. It's a lot of truck. My girl likes the tacoma better. I gotta keep here happy as well. So how are the Tacomas? Good in winter? Good off road? etc.. Thanks so much

I have a 01 tacoma and a 07 tundra. I have had other tacomas in the past. I'm at the point in my life I need a larger truck for hauling my toys and hunting buddies around. I went with the double cab tundra.

I was going to go with a 6 cylinder tacoma until i saw the gas milage estimates. I normally get 20-22 in the winter and 21-24 in the summer with my 01 tacoma 4 cylinder. The 6 cylinder was est at 20 hwy and the tundra with the 5.7 engine was 18 hwy. Since this was almost what I got in my 4 cylinder, I chose the 5.7 in the tundra and I LOVE the tundra. I thought that it was more truck then I needed but I find the extra power and room really comes in handy. I also saw that the tundra has come down in price since last year by several thousand dollars. I'm assuming that sales are dropping because of $4 dollar gas.

I live in N. WI and we get bad winters here. The toyotas I have owned have never failed to start when cold and have preformed well in the snow, ice, ect that we have up here. Tires are a big thing on handeling though.

I wouldn't rule out a tundra right now if I were you. Take a good look at them. The tacoma is nice too but i would suggest going with the 6 cylinder if you plan on doing any towing with it. My 4 cylinder really chugs when towing a light 16 ft boat up hill.

Toyota is a good choice and you won't be disapointed.

Thanks for the response! Get info indeed. Yeah I love the tundra. I'll probably give it a test drive. The Tacoma seems a bit smaller so my wife might like that better. She seems set on the v6 trd leather package. It looks nice I have to admit. I won't be doing any towing. Just hauling the quad in the back. It is a tough decision thats for sure. Thanks so much
