For that price I think it was worth the long drive.

Try looking at snowmobile trailers. In some cases, you can actually find a used snowmobile trailer at a better price than a utility trailer. Also, snowmobile trailers tilt which means no ramps needed like some utitlity trailers.

You might even be able to get a good deal on a trailer with a clam shell (enlcosed). Than you would have a nice dry place to store all your riding gear, extra gas/parts, etc...

An enclosed snowmobile trailer is good for in the winter to keep the road salt away from your quads but otherwise an open trailer is fine. My aunt bought an enclosed and she uses it for everything. She used to have an open trailer. She ran through parts like nothing because the road salt has chemicals in it. When she got enclosed she saved about 300$ in the first year.

Also in the winter if it rains without freezing before it gets to your seat it can help seat cracking by getting into the material and then freezing, Thus expanding and making little tears in the seat.

I really like the quad trailer Zieman makes. It has a locking storage box on the front, along with a rack for gas cans and a bar to secure them.

Mainly, I like the way the 4 ramps slide out from under the deck, and that it is very secure and stable on the highway.

Downside, I suppose, is that if you are in the rust belt it is steel... and also I don't think it is too light.

Anyhow, watch the classifieds and I'm sure you will come up with something decent that meets your needs.
