The 2003 Chevy rattled the day I bought it. The transmission was going out after 20K miles. Traded it.
The 2004 Dodge had the cheapest looking interior on anything I've ever owned. However, that Cummins was awesome. I didn't like the ride but it was the easiest driving. Quickest handling and turning out of the three.
The 2006 F250 is the best styled, inside and out, of all three and has the most room. The motor is a bit underpowered compared to the Cummins but it's a great traveling truck since it has all the bells and whistles. I wish I'd have bought the 40 20 40 seat instead of the captains chairs. I don't know what moron thought those arm rests would be comfortable buy he was an idiot.
You're getting more power from a Ford? That's really unusual. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Seriously, on my dodge, it really didn't get broke in until around 30,000 miles. Part of it is probably the engine starting to break in, and another possibility is that you're getting used to the truck.
You'll see more power on the Ford as it breaks in...or at least I did. I was really disappointed in it at first but have grown to like it more. Still miss that Cummins.
Power shouldn't even be an issue here. Since all three engines are detuned from the factory and can be easily boosted with an aftermarket programmer. Chassis should be the issue. Which means its Ford or Dodge all the way. They are substancially heavier than the GM for a reason. And the GM's independent front end is just wimpy.
Ford and the Duramax diesels are junk. . Actually, I'd rather have a 7.3 non-powerstroke than the Duramax but Cummin's diesels are #1 imo. We got a 1997 12-valve 5.9 cummins in my dodge truck and it has over 130k on it and the only thing I've ever done to it is had the starter rebuilt. I've heard that Ford is going to buy Cummins out for the last 10 years, but it ain't gonna happen. If anything, GM will buy Chrysler and they'll start installing the 6.7 Cummins (with a factory exhaust brake option) in the new Chevys too.

I agree with you. The 06 road tractors with the C15 cat came out with the dual turbo + EGR...... = NIGHTMARE nothing but problems the first model

I have a 06 and 07 C15 cat's and they both have been bulletproof so far. Great power and they dont leak oil like a Detroit!
All these changes, are thanks to uncle sam's near imposible emision standards, the price of these trucks have all jumped in 2007/8 do to the emision requirements that brought about these new engines. Ford would have been happy to have just kept bumping the up the HP on the 7.3s and never made the 6.0 or the new 6.4. There are 7 radiators under the hood of a new 6.4L.
They all have emmision controls that rob fuel economy and generate extream amounts of heat. The 6.4 L is the only one of the 3 that is already able to meet the even more extream 2010 emmision standard. Just take a look underneath a 2002 7.3 then a 2006 6.0 and compare them all to the new 6.4 and you will see your federal government has been hard at work. Its gonna make a big problem here with these new emissions. Many ppl around here run "rig fuel" or "farm fuel" When it comes to the new LMM 07.5 motor you for sure wont be able to run farm fuel, but i hear that problem should be solved for 2010 if lucky. Ive said it before, hang on 2 your diesels.
