Default Using an enclosed trailer as a camper

I think there are folks out there that use some of these enclosed trailers as campers when they are out. I'm sure throw down a mattress, rest rooms are outside. I'm wondering if anyone has any pics of how they've done up there trailers to double for camping.

The reason I ask is that I'm looking for a trailer that can do both, those seem to be about 10 grand. Found a couple from Fleetwood that look promising and a Quicksilver one from Livin' Lite that look really nice but they are a bit out of range right now. But and enclosed 12x6 would run me 2400 bucks or so.

Thanks,
Josh

I haven't seen any conversions but I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Don't need to be tricked out or anything but some storage cabinets, a fold down table and portable cooler wouldn't be a bad idea.

I've seen a few rather "elaborate" ones if you will online. Including shower/toilet units, cabinets and sinks.

I've done that exact thing, I ordered a Haulmark trailer with a crank open window, roof vents, side door, rear ramp door, 12v lights. I use a fold up army style cot and sleeping bag, a folding table, cooking equipment, small propane stove and indoor safe heater when needed, a power invertor converts 12v to 110 for small tv, electric shaver, fan etc. It works out great if you don't mind roughing it a bit.....

I don't have any pictures, but I did this to my 16 footer this summer. My brother and I ran some electricity into the trailer. Have a plug on the front that will plug into an extension cord. Added a light and some outlets inside. Have a queen size air mattress on a collapsible frame that fits across the back of the trailer by the ramp door. Have side door to get in and out. Added 2 folder chairs, a small table, and portable electric refrigator. Brought along a small electric heater and fan, depending on what was needed. Only thing missing was a microwave and a portable toilet (just in case you need a midnight run).

Two important things to get to turn your trailer into a camper. I got the extra lock on the side door that lets me lock the door from the inside. I just lock the outside bar lock so that cannot be locked in. Also, get the flow thru vents on the trailer. Really keeps the gas fumes out.

My wife does'nt like camping, but liked the trailer setup. Rain on the roof sounded nice knowing that we were dry.

Would like to add some shelves that would fold down when not needed, but would be used for storage when camping.

Scroll threw this site. They have trailers that have livingquarters in them. They have a used 8x16 V nose that someone added a living quarters into the front but it is pricy. But it gives ya an idea of how nice you can add livingquarters into a trailer with out buying one factory done.

I'm in the process of doing this very thing to my 24' enclosed I just bought a few months ago. No pics yet as it's still a work in progress.

Here's what I'm doing.
Taking out the plywood lining on the walls and putting insulation under it then putting it back in.
Putting insulation on the ceiling and installing decking on it.
Purchasing a roof AC/ Heating unit from a local RV salvage.
Putting a twin size bunk in the V-nose section of the trailer.
Putting single fold down bunks along the side of it for buddies. This will allow me to sleep another 5 peeps.
Installed some topside truck tool boxes in it for storage cabinets. Works great by the way!
I've installed E-track all through the entire trailer. I also have about 20 or so D rings that attach to the E-track allowing me infinite possibilities to tie stuff down.
Paint the interior to add a finished look and I'm good.
