Default What is a good exhaust??

I am looking for some thing that has a good sound under takeoff, and then quietens down as I start to cruse down the road. I was looking for something that does good as a dual cause I was going to do a true dual system all the way from the manifolds to the bumper.
What are some good systems??

Any suggestions could help.
Thanks

If you have a good truck...I would go flowmaster! It will give it that hearty sound and some good ol extra power...jmo

My brother has a flowmaster on a v-6 s-10 and it is a good sound but I kindof want a more snappy sound at the higher rpms like some of the old muscle cars, but I don't want to totaly straight pipe it on a count of the cops.

I have a built up 429 in a '78 T-Bird. Headers and duals all the way back with no crossover pipe. The exhaust was put on by Midas and they used their Hi-Flo mufflers. Good sound at idle and very quiet at speed. Has a heavy rumble when under heavy acceleration but not overly loud. Very happy with this system. Mufflers also have a lifetime free replacement guarantee.

It is going on an '87 1/2 ton pickup truck. It has a 305ci in it right now but I am going to put the new exaust on a new 350ci crate engine. If I get some money I might put the dual exhaust on the 305 and the exhaust will be on it for the new engine.

With TRUE duels you can actually LOSE power and torque in some applications. You lose low end torque with duels. A friend on mine has a late 80's GMC 1/2 ton with a 350. He did some research before he did his exhaust. He found out that the best power is made with a single 3" pipe. And he has it going into a single in duel out Flowmaster muffler. So, it has the looks of duels, but the performance of a larger diameter single exhaust with the awsome sound of Flowmasters

I was only going to use about 2 1/2" pipes for it so would this small of a pipe hurt the power that much, I was mostly looking for the sound of it so that is just about more important to me than power gains or losses.
