I have had one for years. It has saved my butt many times in many different ways. Stuck in mud, stuck on rocks, bent leaf springs, broken center bolts, and flat tires. A must have tool for the road ( or no road)
I agree that they are very usefull on an off road rig, lifting, pulling, and clamping. The handle also makes a good prybar. On a stock newer towrig I'd keep a bottle jack. If you put a hi-lift under your stock bumper it's going to dent it. The bottle jack under the axle on a truck or trailer works much faster. Also be carefull with the hi-lift they can be very dangerous.
Hi-lift jacks are one of the essentials to have in any pickup on a farm. Unending list of things they are used for. Just be sure to keep them clean and oiled or they will jamb up and fail to work when you need them the most. We have found that nicks and dents in the rail need to be filed smooth and a coat of Rustoliam (sp) or other rust stopper applied.
Also, be aware that it is quite easy to pull a light chain in two with one of these jacks. Use caution.
