2003 Suzuki Ozark 250 Quadrunner
I have a major problem of starting and idling if possible. I cant get the ATV to crank and when I do I have to continue mashing on the thumb throttle in order to keep it running. I let off and it will die. Sometimes I give it throttle and it smokes like no other. Whenever I do attempt to start the ATV, I have the fuel on (Im guessing that's the correct way). And I also cant keep it idling if it does start and run. How would I proceed to fix these issues?

First off "I cant get the ATV to crank" implies the starter won't work, I assume you intended to say I can't get the engine to fire up when cranking. You can't turn the fuel off on a Suzuki, they have "prime" which lets fuel run through constantly and "reserve", and "on" which cuts the fuel supply when the engine is not turning over. If you have the choke on you will get smoking when running and it won't run properly once it starts to warm up. If you have problems with the running with the choke off, the carb will probably need cleaning out, but other things like the tap leaking fuel down the vacuum pipe, a faulty plug or even a partially seized engine which will have low compression, so bad starting and smoking. Any expert on engines can take a look at the machine and narrow the symptoms down to oil smoke or rich mixture etc.
