Hello . I have read a lot of forums on shaving the head on the lt 80 .30 thous. Which I did to one of my lt80s along with Boysen reeds . The other one is stock and the one with the shaved head is quite a bit faster.. I want to get the other head shaved as we'll .. But before I do it I was just wondering if anyone has ever cut the bottom of the cylinder instead of the head? I know that this changes the port timing. The only reason I wonder about this is because I have done this to snowmobile engines by getting a thinner base gasket and it has worked really we'll..Just wondering what u guys think? Maybe 10 thous of the cylinder and 20 thous of the head ?

I sure wouldn't do that.
You'd be better off to add a base gasket to raise the exhaust port..
