2013 efi z400, 5th gear rev limter?
hey guys I finaly got a chance to get my new z400 on an open paved back road,i know I shouldn't ride on paved rad but im stupid lol. any way I wanted to really open it up. I got going wide open in 5th gear for a good distance even down hill a little bit, really winding it out as they say and I noticed it never hit a rev limiter. I know I have read about these things having rev limiters for top speed. iv accidently hit the rev limiter in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear but I did not exp the same thing in 5th. in the other gears it would make a realy fast Waaa Waa Waa rpm sound. But in 5th its like it was just holding the same speed. is that normal? should I hear and feel a rev limter in 5th when going full throttle for any length of time?

Your stock pipe, fuel map and intake are holding you back from revving out in 5th. All high powered atvs come programmed extremely lean. My 700xx wouldn't rev out in 5th either until the exhaust/fuel programmer. They are extremely corked up to meet emissions. There isn't anything to worry about though
